Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away NV652 Review

In this Shark Rotator TruePet review, we’ll look at the pros and cons of this vacuum cleaner model.

Important!

Please note the the NV652 is no longer available due to a recall.
Shark has released the new Shark NV752 vacuum with similar features to the NV652.

Pros of the Shark Rotator TruePet Model

  • The vacuum is average on overall air flow.
  • The entire Shark Rotator line of vacuum cleaners does a good job on bare floors like tile and wood floors. This unit has an extra attachment for vacuuming up pet hair on bare floors. The vacuum pad that goes with the bare floor attachment on this vacuum cleaner is washable.
  • Shark vacuum cleaners are overall highly reliable. According to the 2015 Consumer Reports buying guide, Shark vacuums were the second most reliable upright vacuum cleaners. Only 5% of their vacuums needed to be repaired in a given year, while only Kirby vacuums did better at 3%. Kirby’s reliability remains the same as 2014, while Shark’s reliability has actually improved over 2014’s statistics.
  • Shark NV752 Truepet

    Shark NV752

This vacuum has a complete seal and excellent dust control so that it not only pick up pet hair, dander and dust particles but keep it within the canister without leaving a fine trail of dust or particulate pet dander behind it through the exhaust. It has washable HEPA filters inside the unit.

  • This vacuum has excellent suction. It picks up not only fine pet hair but fur balls too.
  • This vacuum comes with a small motor head attachment to generate as much suction as the main vacuum cleaner when sucking up pet hair on upholstery and carpeted stairs.
  • It comes with a hard floor Genie attachment, TruePet Mini-Motorized Brush attachment, dusting brush, pet upholstery tool and accessory bag.
  • This vacuum has a long thirty foot cord.
  • It is versatile. This vacuum can be used like an upright vacuum cleaner, canister vacuum and handheld lift-away vacuum. The canister and vacuum head separated and stretched out to get under most types of furniture or carried around in canister mode to clean stairs.
  • The vacuum is fifteen pounds, neither light nor too heavy.

Cons of the Shark Rotator TruePet Model

  • The cord has to be wrapped by hand around the vacuum cleaner’s bracket, whereas many rivals have self-windup cords.
  • The Shark TruePet model has limited availability, even with vendors that have its sibling the NV651.

Observations about the Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away

This Shark Rotator TruePet Powered Lift-Away (NV652) review wouldn’t be complete without additional information that is neither a clear pro nor con but could affect someone’s decision to buy it.

The Shark Rotator Professional Lift Away model NV501 is the fourth best bagless upright vacuum cleaner according to the 2015 Consumer Reports buyer’s guide. Model NV532, a Shark Navigator, came in fifth. While the TruePet wasn’t on the list, the Shark Rotator line in general rates well with Consumer Reports. The Shark Rotator vacuums reviewed by Consumer Reports did report on did poorly on pet hair, which is why this model exists.

It has a twelve inch cleaning path.

The biggest difference between this vacuum and the NV651 is the motorized brush for picking up pet hair on upholstery and the accessory bag. They are otherwise comparable, such as its dusting brush, canister caddy, hard floor genie and so forth. The difference with the pet hair brush is that the one with the NV652 won’t plug up with pet hair.

It would be nice to hear these vacuums on the commercials instead of the talking, how much noise do these machines create I’m very interested in this vacuum.

Not very loud. You can have a decent conversation with someone in the room without raising your voice too much, while using the vacuum.

Picked up a lot of dirt that my old hoover canister left behind.
However, I returned it to the store because the machine is very unbalanced..Hard to keep it going straight. It keeps listing left. I was exhausted after five minutes.
    Looking for another machine.
