In this Oreck Signature Collection Upright bagged vacuum, U7250ECS review, we’ll look at the pros and cons of this model.
Pros of the Oreck Signature Model U7250ECS
- The Oreck Signature vacuum can turn and swivel in three hundred and sixty degrees.
- This vacuum is safe for your ultra-thick rugs.
- This vacuum has two speeds. This is enough to let you ramp up the suction without messing with more controls than a smart meter.
- The bag acts as a HEPA air filter, cleaning the air while you clean the floor. The vacuums have a “saniseal” system that seals the bags shut automatically when you remove them, avoiding the cloud of dust that can result when you remove a vacuum cleaning bag. There’s no risk of spilling the dirt you just vacuumed up on the floor while changing out the bag.
- It has two LED headlights to let you see under the furniture you are cleaning.
- The ultra-long 35 foot power cord means you’ll rarely have to unplug the vacuum as you’re cleaning the house.
- This vacuum is around ten pounds, and it is very easy to use. You don’t need upper body strength or grip strength to use it. In fact, it has received awards from the Arthritis Foundation for its ease of use. This may be a good vacuum for someone with limited mobility or arthritis to use.
- This vacuum’s belt has a very long warranty. The manufacturer says the belt cannot jam and will last the life of the vacuum.
- The vacuum comes with ten annual tune-ups, this is ten total tune-ups over the life of the vacuum, not a monthly service call to maintain your vacuum. Very few manufacturers offer anything this. One caveat though is that these free tune ups are only valid if you have the proof of purchase for the vacuum cleaner.
- While not designed specifically for pet owners, it does a good job picking up pet hair.
- The vacuum is delivered nearly completely assembled. The only assembly required is for the handle, and that is little work.
Cons of the of the Oreck Signature Model U7250ECS
- The Gold line by Whirlpool, Premium, Classic - all denote the high end and often the most expensive appliances the manufacturer offers. Oreck’s Signature vacuum is completely in line with this reasoning, selling its Signature vacuums for around six hundred dollars. It costs more on Oreck’s website than through websites like Amazon.com. Even when on sale for twenty to twenty five percent less, you’re paying around four hundred to four hundred and fifty dollars for a vacuum cleaner. The biggest con of this vacuum is the price, relative to performance.
- Oreck brags about the interchangeable bag covers. Show off your style by getting cheap throw pillows or cleaning the grease off the kitchen appliances, not worrying about color coordinating your vacuum cleaner.
- This vacuum has no attachments. For many people, this is a negative. There is no attachment to get the crevices of your furniture, in between appliances or suck up pet hair off the upholstery.
Observations
There are several observations to be added to this Oreck Signature Collection upright bagged vacuum, U7250ECS review. They are neither factors for or against this particular vacuum, only information potential customers should have before making a final decision.
According to Consumer Reports, Oreck vacuums of all models see approximately nine percent of the vacuums needing repair in a given year. This is far better than Riccar, where one out of eight vacuums need to be repaired yearly. It is also slightly worse than rivals like Kenmore, Dyson and Hoover that have seven to eight percent annual repair rates. All in all, Oreck is about as reliable as other major brands but not the most reliable.

This vacuum has a limited lifetime warranty. Then again, given the price, it should have a great warranty. The warranty is only valid if you are the original owner and have proof of purchase of the unit. This isn’t available if you buy the unit refurbished, second hand or even get it as a gift without the receipt.
You cannot adjust the pile height on this vacuum. Depending on your home and your preferences, this may be one less setting to mess with or affect your ability to clean the flooring.
Replacement vacuum bags cost $35 to $40 for a set of eight.

Very good review.
Where do Dyson sit in overall ranking? Are they one of the more reliable vacuums?

Seems like a good buy, but the no attachment thing might not go over too well, with most customers. I would recommend it for bachelors with lesser stuff. kinda like plug’n play
