Pros of the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Pro Pet Vacuum
Cons of the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Pro Pet Vacuum
Observations
I wanted to make a few observations that are neither pros nor cons but should be included in this Hoover WindTunnel 3 Pro Pet bagless upright vacuum UH70931PC review.
The unit does require the assembly of the handle when you get it. This requires a screw and the physical dexterity to screw it in. However, this is less assembly than some other Hoover vacuums.
The HooverWindTunnel series has significant variety in performance according to Consumer Reports. For example, the comparably priced WindTunnel T-series Rewind was the second best bagless upright in the 2014 Consumer Reports list. It was also given the CR best buy recommendation. The Hoover Windtunnel pet rewind came in 13th. Yet the WindTunnel Air came in 35th out of 45. The WindTunnel Pet Rewind Plus, supposed to be a better version of the The Windtunnel Pet Rewind actually came in a low 43rd.
Hoover’s overall reputation can lead people to assume that a Hoover WindTunnel is a premium brand, when Hoover manages to have great vacuums and mediocre vacuums in the same name.
The WindTunnel UH70931PC wasn’t reviewed by Consumer Reports as of this writing. However, I would place the vacuum cleaner somewhere near the upper middle portion of the list comparable to the WindTunnel pet rewind that came in 13th. It isn’t as good as the CR best buy, but it is a solid, reliable vacuum by Hoover.
Another note is the vacuum’s single headlight. It is an efficient LED headlight but not particularly bright. Don’t expect it to light your way when you’re cleaning.

I purchased the Hoover Windtunnel3 Pro in April of 2016. It is not even 1 year old. I am very unhappy with this product. We have 1 room of carpet in our home…. we have 1 pet…. we have had to replace belts twice, and the “pickup” is not very good from the start. We exchanged the first one at Target less than a week after we bought it since we just thought it may be a defective unit…. this morning I was vacuuming and it just shut off….. my husband touched the the area where the motor is and it was very very hot. There is nothing obstructing…. and now, I will need to buy another vacuum cleaner.

I agree Mimi Neclerio! All though my situation is a little different I haven’t had it no more than 2 years and then back in Nov I went to vacuum on the morning of my kids birthday party and I kept smelling something burning like the belt broke but my husband checked the belt and it was fine so we are assuming it was the motor.. Maybe if I never took care of it as far as keeping every little thing clean on it I wouldn’t care as much but we paid good money for it and I think it should have lasted longer than 2 years!! Very disappointed..

Does it work fine on all floor types? Our house have a laminate floor, high-pile carpets, rugs and wooden floors. I am wondering if it is good for varied floors.
Did the motor get too hot or smell badly since the beginning? I’m a little worried.

I just bought this at Costco and used it yesterday. At first, I was very pleased that it has a mighty power in suctioning dust, but then after awhile I started to notice a burning smell. I turned off the vacuum immediately. After letting it cool down, I started vacuuming again and the same thing happened, but this time there was a smoke coming out right out where you hit on the brush function. The motor felt very hot as well. I am concerned because this poses as a fire hazard.

I bought one from Costco and I saw some smoke coming out too..opened it to see the rubber belt half melted. I have barely used it for few times. Can’t take it back becoz I did purchase it at the beginning of the year. This is my second hoover from Costco in two years and both not working. Very disappointed.

I bought yhis Hoover Windtunnel Pro 3 Pet in August 2016 and it has worked like a trooper all this time. Lots of suction, even when the basket gets full. Great to be able to wash the filter and extend it’s life before replacement. Works on hardwood and laminate floors as well as thick or thin pile carpet.

We bought two of these. One for the office and one for our home. The problem we have with both of these vacuums is that it overheats and stops after vacuuming for just two or three rooms. We do not own pets and did not have a lot of dirt or debris on the carpet or floor. Very inconvenient. We clean out the bag every time. This happened just the second time we used it. For both vacuums. There seems to be a real flaw in these vacuums.

Purchased this in Fall of 2017. First use was in Jan 2018. Within a month the retractable cord no longer retracted. Within 3 months it just died. No burning smell, nothing, just stopped. Very unhappy with the product and would not recommend

I brought it home and used it to try it out and was amazed at the suction. Didn’t vacuum the whole house, just a hallway. Next time I used it it literally stuck on the linoleum and scarred it. I changed the level and it still did it. Never got to vacuum the whole house with it it before it started smelling like it was burning. My husband tried it while I was out of town and it just quit after sparking and burning smell. I took it apart and checked and cleaned it. Nothing….won’t even start. I won’t take a chance on a hoover again.

I bought this vacuum in 2016 and it worked fine for about 2 year. After that, it began to go through belts quickly and there was heat inside where the belt is seated. Not sure why this would happen as I only use it as directed and have never picked up anything other than dust & pet hair.

The hoover 3 pet hair removal seemed to work fine for about 2 months and then while i wad vacuuming for a few minutes it shut itself off. The motor area and cord near the unit was very hot. After the vacuum cools for a few hrs it works again for knky a few minutes. I wish i would have read the reviews prior to buying as tmy exlerience is true to many other reviews. Not good and dont buy.

This is the worst vacuum I have ever bought. It is heavy and very hard to push. I need 2 hands to vacuum carpeting. I have also noticed a burning odor while vacuuming. I would not recommend this vacuum to anyone. There are better machines on the market without all of these problems. I have always had great luck with my Hoover machines but I am doubtful if I will buy another Hoover after owning this one.

Not very happy, we don’t have pets so the perfomance was ok. The problem I have is the quality. The handle release mechanism broke which was due to wear over time(3 years). Then the handle snapped at the location where the hand tool is located. The plastic appears to be less than 1/16 of an inch. My recommendation is to get a different brand. Very disappointed, expected more from Hoover.
