In this review of the Hush Tone commercial vacuum cleaner by Hoover, we’ll look at the strengths and weaknesses of the model. We’ll also address a few details and features of the model CH32008 vacuum cleaner that aren’t clear points for or against the design but could affect the decision to buy it by some consumers.
Pros of the Hoover Hush Tone
It is one of the more affordable Hoover commercial vacuums.
This commercial vacuum cleaner has a nine liter or nine and a half quart capacity.
It only weighs around eleven pounds empty.
Its HEPA filter bags capture almost all pollen, dust and dirt. This is an excellent choice for removing fine dust and dander over a large area. Another benefit of the bags is the ability to empty the large dust cup without risking a large plume of dirt flying up, creating a smaller but new mess.
The vacuum’s fifty foot cord allows you to cover a large space without hunting for another electrical outlet. If the cord is damaged, you can remove the cord and replace it without having to replace the whole vacuum cleaner.
The vacuum rolls easily as you vacuum with the head.
The vacuum’s hose is very flexible.
It is a quiet vacuum with a 62 db noise rating.
Cons Against the Hoover Hush Tone CH32008 Vacuum
While the vacuum cleaner is called “commercial”, it doesn’t have extremely high suction for sucking food pieces out of crevices in car seats or large food chunks. While it picks up larger items like pebbles easily, it doesn’t always get the very fine dust, even though the filter would trap it in the vacuum if the unit sucked it up. It has mid-level suction, despite the “commercial” name.
If you want to use the HEPA grade vacuum bags with this model, the greatest challenge will be finding those versus the lesser vacuum bags. If you don’t want or need to use HEPA bags, you can use the Allergen CC1 or standard Hoover vacuum bags instead.
Observations about the Hoover Hush Tone
This vacuum is called a hush tone because at 62 decibels in “hush mode”, it is one of the quieter commercial vacuums on the market. The normal operating noise is much louder, but most vacuums don’t have any option other than a loud normal noise and, sometimes, a very loud extra suction mode. The flipside of “hush mode” is that it has less suction.
This is a dry vacuum only – do not use it on wet/dry or wet messes, no matter how much it looks like a wet/dry garage vacuum cleaner. It does come with basic extender wands, dusting brush and crevice tool.
The vacuum head is suitable for hard floors and short carpets; it lacks an agitator brush to clean thicker carpets.
Summary
The model CH32008 commercial vacuum cleaner is a good choice for light cleaning of large areas with hard floors such as building lobbies, hotels with low carpets, garage floors that have nothing larger than wood dust and hallways with tile floors. It is a great choice for those who need to clean up sand and pet dander without waking up children in the next room or hotel guests. Don’t purchase this vacuum if you need to clean up wood chips, dirt ground into thick carpets or soggy messes.
